What to draw for Thanksgiving
The classic Thanksgiving turkey is just a circle body plus a fan of feathers — and kids can trace their own hand to make one, with the thumb as the head. Beyond the turkey, autumn gives lots of simple subjects: acorns, leaves in warm colors, a round pumpkin pie, or a cornucopia spilling fruit. Warm reds, oranges, browns, and yellows tie the whole page together.
Thanksgiving drawing tips
- 1Trace a hand turkey. Spread fingers for feathers and the thumb for the head — the easiest turkey a young child can make.
- 2Use warm fall colors. Reds, oranges, browns, and yellows instantly make any drawing feel like autumn.
- 3Add a few friends. Group leaves, acorns, and pumpkins together so a single object becomes a cozy fall scene.
