Easy Things to Draw for Christmas
Christmas is a gift for young artists — a triangle tree, a round snowman, a striped candy cane are all built from the simplest shapes. These festive prompts are easy to draw and fun to decorate, great for homemade cards and gift tags.
8 easy things to draw
- a triangle Christmas tree with a star on top
- a round snowman with a carrot nose and scarf
- a reindeer with branchy antlers and a red nose
- a striped candy cane with a bow
- a shiny ornament hanging from a branch
- a wrapped present with a big ribbon
- a cozy stocking stuffed with treats
- a snowy gingerbread house with icing
What to draw for Christmas
A Christmas tree is really just a few stacked triangles with a star on top; a snowman is three circles and a carrot nose. Once the main shape is down, the fun is in decorating — baubles, lights, stripes, and snowflakes. Green, red, and white carry the holiday feel, so kids can keep each subject simple and still make the page sparkle.
Christmas drawing tips
- 1Build from simple shapes. Stacked triangles make a tree and three circles make a snowman — start there, then decorate.
- 2Decorate last. Draw the outline first, then add baubles, lights, and stripes so the lines stay neat.
- 3Add falling snow. A few dots and simple snowflakes around the subject make the whole page feel wintry.
